Each school year, Peninsula Hands On Art provides four unique art projects for students. These projects are taught through films by local artists and
facilitated in the classroom by trained volunteer parent docents (that’s you!). Students receive high-quality materials and specialized lessons, and are guided through each project, resulting in an original piece of art to take home or display at school. Along the way, students gain a deeper understanding of visual arts, culture, and history, and enjoy the rewards of the creative process. Parent volunteers attend a training session for each project, where they engage in a hands-on experience to prepare for their classroom role. Peninsula Hands On Art provides all training materials and art supplies. Our first project of the school year, “Gustav Klimt Birch Trees,” will have its training session on Thursday, September 26th, from 7-9 pm at Swift Water.
